Doctoral consortium venue
The University of Sussex is a public research university in Brighton. Its campus is located in the South Downs National Park and is a short distance away from Central Brighton. It is the only University campus in the country to be located entirely within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Designed by Sir Basil Spence, the award-winning University of Sussex campus is designed as a stream of low buildings so as not to disturb the natural scenery around.
The campus is self-contained with facilities, eights cafes/restaurants, a post office, multiple Co-op Food stores, a market, a bank, a bookshop, a pharmacy, a health centre (including a dentist) and childcare facilities.
Brighton is located on England's south coast in the county of East Sussex. It’s only an hour away from Central London by train and 30 minutes from London Gatwick, one of the UK's major international airports.
A sunny seaside city famous for its sense of inclusivity – Brighton is an excellent location for the OLKC conference! One of the top-10 city beach destinations in the world (Lonely Planet), Brighton’s seafront is the ideal place to soak up the sun or take bracing walks and think about the finer things in life. Or, if it's more conversations that you're after, the city is crammed with cafés, restaurants and coffee shops, including some of the best vegetarian restaurants in the country.
